Investigations of Cavitation Bubble Dynamics by Means of Fast Cinematography | |
Mettin R., Luther S., Lindau O., Koch P. and Lauterborn W. Drittes Physikalisches Institut, Universität Göttingen Bürgerstra\ss e 42-44, 37073 Göttingen, Germany High-speed cinematography serves as an excellent tool for investigation of cavitation bubble dynamics on various time scales. We report on methods and results in two cases: The aspherical bubble collapse is studied with up to 100 million frames per second, and the fast motion of many bubbles in an acoustic field is recorded at a picture rate of 2250 per second. |
