This paper deals with the evaluation of the experimental data obtained in LS-1.0-03 test performed in the PSB-VVER integral test facility. General description of the test facility, initial and boundary conditions of the test as well as test results are given. The test simulated a 1% loop seal break LOCA with failure of one of three HPIS lines and total LPIS failure. PSB-VVER integral test facility is four loops full pressure scaled down model of primary system of NPP with Russian design reactor VVER-1000. Volume-power scale is 1/300 while elevation scale is 1/1.

The analysis of the test results has shown that HPIS two lines water flow rate was sufficient to remove core decay heat and to prevent core overheating before beginning of the accumulators injection. Combined HPIS (two lines) and accumulators injection provides for a long time core model cooldown (up to 5600 s).

Comparing the main events occurred in the course of the experiment has been conducted in the paper. The experimental data gained help to obtain physical insight into phenomena occurring during LOCA transients and also will be useful for thermal-hydraulic codes verification.
