Dynamics of Vapor Bubbles in Acoustic Fields | |
Gumerov N. A. Dynaflow, Inc., USA Dynamics of spherical vapor bubbles in isotropic acoustic fields are considered. A weakly nonlinear with respect to the relative amplitude of the acoustic pressure theory is developed up to the third-order approximation including memory-type thermal effects in the liquid. An efficient numerical technique based on time scale separation is developed. Effects of nonequilibrium phase transitions are analyzed. It is found that they may affect the vapor bubble dynamics in water in a broad range of frequencies (1-100 kHz) and bubble sizes (10 $\mu $m-1 mm). |
